This online Journal is published by Sterling & Selesnick, Inc., an organizational consulting firm that has helped more than six dozen government agencies master an extensive variety of complex performance challenges.

We design and facilitate collaborative and engaging processes of self-directed change that empower organizations and individuals to improve their performance capabilities and add significantly greater value for their customers and stakeholders.

Our professional practice, initiated in 1981 as a woman-owned small business with offices in Salem, Massachusetts and clients throughout North America, is conducted by two partners who combine over 60 years of organizational consulting experience.

Our principals, Hinda Sterling and Herb Selesnick, have consulted to more than 200 public, private and non profit enterprises; facilitated hundreds of critical meetings, sensitive discussions and strategic conversations; and personally mentored, coached or instructed educational programs for several thousand executives, managers, supervisors and frontline employees at every level of government.

Herb holds Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in physics and management and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in political science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.  Hinda earned a Bachelor degree in English literature from the University of Massachusetts, a Master’s degree in educational counseling from Salem State College, and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in human and organizational systems from Fielding Graduate University.

Hinda and Herb each received a Hammer Award from the Government Reinvention Task Force headed by former Vice President Al Gore for their organizational consulting contributions to “building a government that works better and costs less.”
